Catch A Wave | Experiential Display Installation
For this display, my client wanted a unique summer-inspired installation that would welcome patients as they entered and provide a photo opportunity after getting their braces on or off. Naturally, I gravitated toward the idea of a wave.
I wanted to recreate the movement and fluidity of water, using large sheets of crepe paper to build the sculpture. I cut the paper into petal-like shapes, layering and arranging them to create the sense of movement and controlled chaos found in crashing waves.
The underlying structure was constructed using pool noodles, hot glue, and an abundance of zip ties. The project allowed me to experiment with unconventional materials and explore how simple construction techniques could produce an elaborate sculptural form.
